University Notes:  U.S. News and World Report recently ranked Virginia Tech 25th among public universities nationwide. Money ranked Virginia Tech as the third-best college you can get into, seventh-best college in the south and 13th-best public university. Virginia Tech has students from 41 states and territories and 36 countries outside of the United States.
 
Job Placement: For graduates surveyed within six months of graduation, the average placement rate across all seven of the undergraduate academic colleges was 81 percent, which includes those grads who opted to continue their education in lieu of accepting work placement.

Cost to Play: $2,100, which in addition to ice time and league costs provides the players with helmets, gloves, bags, home and away game jerseys, socks, warm ups, and practice jerseys. The club also covers travel to away games and overnight hotel accommodations.
 
Roster Composition: Virginia Tech has players from all over the United States who have played some combination of junior hockey, club/travel hockey and/or high school hockey.
 
Practice Schedule: The season begins just after Labor Day and runs through the middle of March. Practices are Monday and Wednesday evenings, and there are off-ice training sessions run by the team on campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays as they fit into our players’academic schedules.
 
Game Schedule: Typically a 26-28 game regular season. Based on overall performance, there are also league playoffs, the Southeast Regional Tournament, and ACHA D2 National Tournament, which can add another 10 games to the schedule.
 
Accolades: The program history includes regular-season league championships, league playoff championships, regular rankings among the top 10 in the Southeast Region, Southeast Regional Tournament invitations, ACHA D2 National Tournament participation and numerous individual player MVP and coaching awards.
 
Livestream: The team offers limited live streaming through its FaceBook page, with an expanded solution being worked for future seasons.
 
Structure: The hockey program is a club sport and operates out of the Virginia Tech Recreational Sports Office. The club is operated by the student officers in conjunction with the coaching staff.
 
Fan Support: Virginia Tech enjoys some of the most vocal fan support in the ACCHL. The fan base consists of alumni, parents, students, and faculty as well as local hockey fans and Virginia Tech sports supporters.
