Tournament Rules
1. All teams will play preliminary round games to determine which teams advance:
1a. Seeding will be based on the number of points earned in the preliminary round.
1b. There will be no overtime in the preliminary round games. Divisions of 4 will play 3 game round robin then a Consolation Game and Final Game will be the teams 4th games. A Division of 5 will play 4 game round robin and the top 2 will play in the final. A Division of 6 or more will play 4 game round robin and then a semi final and final.
2. Points shall be awarded in the preliminary round as follows:
a. 2 points for a win in regulation
b. 1 point for a tie
c. 0 points for a loss
3. In the event of a tie in the number of points earned in the preliminary rounds, the following tie- breakers shall be applied to determine the final position:
a. Head to head result. This will only be applied when two teams are tied if more than two teams are tied then tiebreakers b, c, d and e are applied in order.
b. Goal differential, max +6 in any one game.
c. Least goals against
d. Least penalty minutes
e. Fastest first goal scored in their first tournament game played.
4. A tie in a semi final or final game shall be settled by one five minute sudden death OT period with both teams playing 4 on 4 (plus goalie). If no goal is scored in the five minute OT period, another 5 minute sudden death OT period with both teams playing 3 on 3 (plus goalies) If no goal is scored each team will send 5 players in a shoot out, if after 5 shooters a side the score is still tied the shoot out will continue 1 player a side until a winner is determined. Any player that has time remaining on a penalty at the end of the overtime will not be eligible to shoot in the shoot out.
5. Penalties will carry over to overtime. If a team is penalized during the overtime, the minimum number of players on the ice will be 2. If an additional penalty is incurred, the penalized player will go to the box and the penalty will begin after the previous penalty expires. The teams will not change ends for the overtime and intermission will be 1 minute. Any player with time remaining on a penalty after overtime will not be able to shoot in the shoot out.

7. All games shall be 2 halves of 19 minutes stopped time. The first half the teams will have the long change. The sole exception is a lead of 6 or more goals in the 2nd half (once there is 14 minutes or less left in the half), in which case, running time shall be utilized for the remainder of the game or until the lead 4 goals or less.
8. Pre game warm-ups are 3 minutes from the sounding of the horn. Teams shall be prepared to take the ice 10 minutes prior to scheduled game time.
9. All referee decisions are final and will not be overturned by the tournament director. USA hockey rules will be in effect. Exceptions will be 1. tag up off-sides 2. Slap Shots at all levels. NO CHECKING at any level.
10. No time outs in round robin, Semi Finals and Finals teams will get 1 timeout each.
11. To play in the semi finals or finals a player must have played at least 2 games in the round robin.
12. No player can play on more than one team in the same age division. A player can play up with an older age group but no players can play down. Any exceptions must be approved
